MANILA, Philippines — No weather disturbance is seen to enter the Philippine area of responsibility in the next few days, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
But three weather systems—shearline, northeast monsoon, and easterlies—continue to influence the country’s atmospheric conditions and are expected to trigger cloudy skies, rains, and thunderstorms, the state weather agency added.

Pagasa specialist Benison Estareja said during the early Friday morning weathercast that the northeast monsoon, locally termed amihan, would still affect Northern and Central Luzon while the shear line and easterlies affect Southern Luzon and Visayas and Mindanao, respectively.

Article continues after this advertisementResidents in affected areas of the Bicol Region, Quezon, Marinduque, and Oriental Mindoro were warned against possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.
It was a reference to the notorious “behest loans” granted to individuals or corporations favored by powerful government officials.
About a year later, all that optimism disappeared into thin air, along with its Greenbelt showroom, which was once a vibrant outlet showcasing different e-scooter models. This space—meant to attract heavy foot traffic—has been padlocked very recently.
Article continues after this advertisementEstareja also said the easterlies will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms to the Eastern Visayas, Dinagat Islands, and Surigao del Norte on Friday.
He added that the northeast monsoon will cause overcast skies with rains in Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Aurora.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon may expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the northeast monsoon, Estrajea likewise said.
“Base sa ating latest satellite animation, wala tayong namamataan na bagyo o low-pressure area sa paligid ng Philippine area of responsibility [na] makakaapekto sa ating bansa sa susunod na araw,” Estareja noted.

Pagasa, however, said that due to prevailing or expected strong to gale-force winds, sea travel would be risky for small sea crafts, including all motor bancas, advising mariners to remain in port or seek safe harbor.
